i am having trouble with my nikon fm10 film camer
JA: What's the make/model of your camera? How old is it?
Customer: 20 years old but in new-ish condition. 3 years of casual use.
JA: What happened right before this popped up? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: it no longer releases the shutter I think it is related to the film knob
JA: Anything else you want the camera expert to know before I connect you?

It sounds as if the film advance lever may not be fully cocked if the shutter is not releasing.

Try to gently push the lever forward until it won't go anymore.

The shutter should then fire when you press the shutter release.
