Hi there. My name is*****'m sorry that you're having this problem. I will do my best to help. Can you tell me please what happens when you try to format the card? Do you get a specific error message?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Put card in and it says it needs formatted click yes, agree all files will be erased click yes, and it just takes me back and tells me the same thing

It sounds as though you are doing everything correctly and the card is indeed being formatted. Here's a good way to test. Take a few photos with the card in the camera. Then format the card and see if you can still find the photos. If you can't, then the format is working properly. Please give this a try and let me know the results.

Here's a link to the user manual for your camera.

The process for formatting a memory card is on page 117. Please note that it doesn't say that you will receive any confirmation that the card was indeed formatted. That is unfortunate. It would be nice to have it display a message stating that "The format is now complete" but unfortunately it was not designed that way.

I hope I’ve provided the information you were seeking. If I have, please kindly take a moment to rate my service. If you are not satisfied, please let me know so I can continue working with you or refer you to another expert. Please do not issue a rating until you have provided me with an opportunity to address any remaining questions or issues. Your complete satisfaction is my goal!

I'm sorry to hear that. I am out of ideas. It sounds as though your camera may be defective. I will opt out and open the question to other experts who may be able to assist.

Hi there and welcome

Can you remove the battery please then hold the shutter button down for 60 seconds then release.

Wait 5 minutes, put the battery back in and try to turn it on and take photos.

Let me know the results please
