How can you operate a Agfa Duo scan without the cover on?

Customer Question

How can you operate a Agfa Duo scan without the cover on?
JA: What's the make/model of your camera? How old is it?
Customer: I'll look
JA: What happened right before this popped up? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: It is a duoscan from 1997. There is no problem with it - works great! Here is the sitch. I want to scan a filmstrip that is about 8 feet long I do not want to cut it up. If I take the whole cover off I can do it - but with the cover off it isn't seen by my mac. I need to bypass the sensor / switch that wants that cover to be on.
JA: Anything else you want the camera expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: that is it

There is a little microswitch in the hinge area of the Agfa DuoScan that detects when the lid is closed.
If you can press something down on the microswitch it will make the scanner think the lid is closed.

Hello Pete,That is not the answer. The scanner scans with what I would call the lid – completely off. I am talking about the entire cover – the housing. I need to scan an 8 foot long filmstrip. I need access to the transparency level. I need to know where the switch is located – precisely.
