Customer Question

I dropped my camera and now the shutter does not release.
JA: What's the exact make and model of the camera? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: D3s Nikon
JA: What happened right before this popped up? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: this just popped up, I haven't tried anything else yet. The shutter only closes when I shut the camera off...
JA: Anything else you want the camera expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: Is it something simple like possibly resetting it?

Hi there and welcome

Can you remove the battery please then hold the shutter button down for 60 seconds then release.

Wait 5 minutes, put the battery back in and try to turn it on.

Tell me please if it now operates correctly

Thank you

It did not work, I shoot in continuous mode most of the time, I depress the shutter and it does not release until I hit the shutter again...

I would like you please to do a reset of the camera

To do this, Press and hold ISO and WB buttons for two seconds to reset the camera to default settings.

Then tell me how it operates please
