I have a Canon EOS7D mark2. Last weekend while shooting it

Customer Question

I have a Canon EOS7D mark2. Last weekend while shooting it suddenly stoped focasing , menu would not come on, display would not come on but camera was powered up. No error code showed. After about 15 minutes of attempting to figure out the problem everything started working correctly again. Any thoughts
JA: What's the exact make and model of the camera? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: EOS7D Mark 2 (G)
JA: What happened right before this popped up? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Everything had been working fine . I was shooting a rodeo how ever it was raining and try as you may it`s hard to keep things perfectly dry. After this happened I turned camera on & off several times , took battery out & back in several times, finally put different battery in. After a short time everything started working correctly.Could something have gotten wet or could I unknowingly done something to create the problem
JA: Anything else you want the camera expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I think that covers it

If the lens was not securely connected or if moisture got into the lens or camera it could have caused this problem.

Remove the lens and clean the contacts on both the lens and the camera body ,then firmly reattach the lens and all should be good again.
