I have a fine line appearing on the display on my canon

Customer Question

I have a fine line appearing on the display on my canon SX30is It doesn't appear to be showing on the photos I took yesterday.
JA: What's the make/model of your camera? How old is it?
Customer: Canon SX30IS and I'm not sure how old but I have had it a few years 10 years maybe a littler more
JA: What happened right before this popped up? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I didn't notice anything until I was checking the photo that I took of a friend yesterday and when I pushed the view button I noticed this very fine line showing 33/4 way down the photo and all the way across the view. When I first turn the camera on it also shows up just below the bottom of the picture frame
JA: Anything else you want the camera expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I don't think so, thank you Regards,Noreen

Hi, thank you for contacting My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

From your description, if it does not show up on the pictures, then it is caused by either memory or LCD screen.

It would be, most likely, a hardware defect... in need of fixing. Would you be interested in having the camera serviced?
