I have a FinePix S3100 AX Version 4.2b for Windows 09
JA: What's the make/model of your camera? How old is it?
Customer: AX version 4.2b the dusc is for Windows 98/99 any rate I could not re-install it for Windows 10..I tried going on Fuji line , but NO ONE could read the number/letters at bottom of page to submit my do I get an update so I can get to my pictures and put more in??
JA: What happened right before this popped up? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: none.I need an update or something from FUJI for it to work
JA: Anything else you want the camera expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: no ...I just need an update so that it is compatible with Windows 10 ..I am 81 and can't afford a new camers

I tried communticationg with Fuji, but you have to copy the numbers/letters at the bottom of the form (on Fuji) and you CAN NOT read them (I tried several people to see if they could read it) so that I could submit and it was impossible..I just need an update so that it is once again useable

Try just connecting the camera, with a USB cable, to a USB port on your Windows computer.

Wait, leaving it alone, for at least 4 minutes.

Then after that time, go to



and see whether it is now seen as a device by Windows, and listed there.

If it is (it may be among the lesser disk drive L:etters, and have an obscure and odd name) then double-click on it, and see if you can access the pictures stored on it.

Can that be done?

I TRIED twice, once just in Windows 10 and the 2nd time with FinePix open ..each time leaving it MORE THAN the 4 min. you requested ...if only I could get to FuJi without having to put their darn letters in that NO ONE I asked to look at and they couldn't read to submit my problem and I can't afford anymore $'s to fix a problem that doesn't want to be fixed .. I am 81 and can't afford extra $'s on frivolous things

If any page, with letters on it, is too small to read, here's a trick:

- hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard.

- then hold down Shift key, also, and press the + key several times.

That should expand, or 'Magnify' your screen... hopefully to the point where it becomes fully readable.

that won't work , as the LAST update from Microsoft for Windows 10 left my Ctrl / alt useless !
