Good mornig, My D800 Shuts down each time I atatch an ED lens It does not happen with other Lenses. I cannot clear the error message on my D80 it seems the shutter is not opening. Help
JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact make and model of your machine?
Customer: NIKON D800. And NIKON D80
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: The D800 for a while, Tried going through the settings even upgraded the firm ware. with the D80 Just Started happening has taken off the lens removed the Card Removed the batterry
JA: Anything else you want the electronics expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: the D800 works fine with older lenses and from other manufacturers

Try cleaning the contacts on the lens, where it makes connection with the camera body.

If cleaning the contacts doesn't help then the lens has a fault, possibly with the internal circuit board, and it will need to be sent to Nikon for repair:
