Customer Question

printer My PIXMA MG 6600 prints from the computer but will not print independently by itself. I have reset the settings and it doesn't accept them.
JA: Can you guesstimate how old the Pixma is? And has this happened before?
Customer: 2 years and 4 months old. It happened about a year ago.
JA: What happened right before this popped up? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Resetting the paper tray and resetting the correct menu selections.
JA: Anything else you want the camera expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I believe this is it.

Hi, thank you for contacting My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

When it doesn't print independently by itself, what error message or indication does it produce? something about wrong paper size perhaps, or photocopying an original that is not the same size as the blank paper stock loaded in the machine's tray? or is it some other circumstance of printing by itself? please specify.

(I regret that I am not able to offer Live Phone Call service at this time; However, your Phone Call request is still open to other Experts in this category, and one of them may pick up on the Phone Call request at any time.)

The size or type of the loaded paper is different from the print settings. Code 2110
Expert:  Russell H. replied 12 months ago.

OK. Thanks for the info and the response.

What size of paper is loaded, please? and what size original document are you trying to copy (or otherwise print-by-itself as it were) ?

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
8 x 10 & plain paper. Those are the setting I have set in. I still get the 2110 error msg.
Expert:  Russell H. replied 12 months ago.

8 x 10 is not the same size as 'plain' or 'letter' paper, which is 8 1/2 by 11 inches in dimensions.

I don't know which settings you have, but the settings have to match the paper stock size.
