Hi, thank you for contacting My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

The repair cost depends upon who's doing the replacement, and also on the camera's age... being 14 years old, it is out of warranty, so you'd have to pay whatever the repair cost for this problem is quoted to you by the repairer as, yourself.

This isn't by any means a severely expensive problem. Replacing the camera's main circuit board would be more expensive.

What region are you in? depending upon your zip code (or town/city and state) there are various repairers to take the camera to, after contacting them to see what their quoted price is.

Let me know, by Reply To Expert, and I will advise you further. Thanks.

There is, for FujiFilm-made cameras in the US, regrettably only one authorized repair center, it's in New Jersey.

FUJIFILM North America Corporation
1100 King Georges Post Road
Edison, NJ 08837
Attn.: Camera Repair Dept.
Phone:(###) ###-#### option # 2
Fax:(###) ###-####or(###) ###-####br />Hours: 9:00 am - 8:00 pm EST

and this page has the repair form you need to print out, fill out, and send with your camera to that address. Call first, though, to make sure the address listed online is still valid, and that your camera (being out-of-warranty) is being sent to the right place.

If you wish to take your camera to a local place instead, let me know, and I can find a location in your region that repairs camera (though they may simply send it off to the same NJ location.)

Please be warned: Live Phone Call service is an extra charge service. I don't think, that for such a simple case, you need live phone call service. That charge, if you have already incurred it, can be reversed by contacting Customer Support at, and asking about the charges.

Other ways of contacting Customer Support at JustAnswer about billing and charges issues, is through the means on this page, incl. phone #s:

Please note: I have rejected the Phone Call service request. If you ask Customer Support about it soon enough, it should not be a permanent charge, in consequence of that. I want you to be spared unnecessary expense for the advice I am providing.

If you think my work is worthy of a favorable rating, please rate my answer, or tell me what rating you would like to have applied. And let me know if you need more information, please. Thanks.
