I have a Fuji Finepix S3000 that inside the battery box one

I have a Fuji Finepix S3000 that inside the battery box one of the metal receptors has broken off missing...is this repairable or would I be better off just purchasing another camera...also how can I retrieve the photos on it since cant get on without batteries?
JA: What's the exact make and model of the camera? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: Fuji FinePix S3000 probably 14 years old, love it
JA: What happened right before this popped up? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: was changing batteries, as camera would not come on, put in new batteries and it would still not come on, thats when I discovered the metal receptor gone

The repair cost depends upon who's doing the replacement, and also on the camera's age... being 14 years old, it is out of warranty, so you'd have to pay whatever the repair cost for this problem is quoted to you by the repairer as, yourself.

This isn't by any means a severely expensive problem. Replacing the camera's main circuit board would be more expensive.

What region are you in? depending upon your zip code (or town/city and state) there are various repairers to take the camera to, after contacting them to see what their quoted price is.

There is, for FujiFilm-made cameras in the US, regrettably only one authorized repair center, it's in New Jersey.

and this page has the repair form you need to print out, fill out, and send with your camera to that address. Call first, though, to make sure the address listed online is still valid, and that your camera (being out-of-warranty) is being sent to the right place.

If you wish to take your camera to a local place instead, let me know, and I can find a location in your region that repairs camera (though they may simply send it off to the same NJ location.)

Please be warned: Live Phone Call service is an extra charge service. I don't think, that for such a simple case, you need live phone call service. That charge, if you have already incurred it, can be reversed by contacting Customer Support at JustAnswer.com, and asking about the charges.
