Moultrie M880 nonsense on menu, not English or any other

Customer Question

Moultrie M880 nonsense on menu, not English or any other language I can recognize. Never been able to use it after 2 years. I still take it out of the box to try again from time to time. Have you seen this before?

Hi, thank you for contacting My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

I take it that you cannot photograph this 'nonsense language' that appears on your camera's screen. (Might it be Chinese, or Japanese kanji writing?) If you could photograph it, and post the photo file to me with your Reply, that would help with answering your question and maybe curing the camera also.

I would presume that the writing is some Oriental language, and that your camera has somehow been set to the wrong language. Was it that way since you bought it? (Did you buy it New, or Used?)

If it can be determined to be a certain foreign language, e.g. Chinese, we can figure out how to reset the language back to English. That's why I am asking these questions.
