I just purchased a new 12-60 ED/SWD lense and I the camera

Customer Question

I just purchased a new 12-60 ED/SWD lense and I the camera (E-300) won't operate when this lense is mounted to the camera.
JA: What's the exact make and model of the camera? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: It's at least 8 years old. It's an E-300 E-Volt
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Tried removing battery, remounting my other lense and then mounting the new lense, I read the troubleshooting portion of the camera manual and didn't see anything that applied.
JA: The camera expert can solve this for you. Anything else you want him to know before I connect you two?
Customer: When I mount the lense to the camera and turn the camera on, the blue light turns on and stays on but the camera does not respond in any other way.

My name is***** will try my best to help you with your question.

Does the camera operate ok when other lenses are attached?

If so, the problem is with the new lens - test it on a different camera body, and if it doesnt work there either then it should be returned.

Let me know how you get on...
