Hi, I have a cool pix L840. Just recently I haven't been able to download all my photos when connecting via wifi and wireless mobility utility. It only downloaded about 5 photos instead of around 20. I put in new batteries. Is there something else that could be wrong?

The wireless connection could be slow, or it could be unstable.

What wireless connection were you using, Bluetooth, or WiFi ?

Either way, if there was a different environment or locale, in which you did the connect-and-download, you could have had interference from the environment. Esp. if you did the connect-and-download in a car... cars are very 'noisy' environments, relative to wireless communication.

Let me know the circumstances, and also, what error message the download was terminated with, if any. And I will advise you further.

Hi, thank you for responding so quickly! I'm downloading in my house where previously it has not been a problem. Also, a handful of photos did download. When I look at the folder on my iPad after connecting with the camera, I see 5 photos and a folder with a red X. I wonder if that folder has the rest of the photos but I can't access it.

A red X over the folder means, probably, that the folder was miswritten... e.g., the connection providing the information was terminated before the folder was completed.

If the folder was recently created, and its File Info reveals it has nothing in it, then delete it.

And try the connection again. Maybe it was just a temporary failure, or 'glitch' - I hope so.

I can't click on it to delete it. Nothing happens when I click on it. I've started over (by turning off/on camera and even uninstalling and reinstalling the app). I can see the additional photos on the camera but they don't show up on the app when the camera connects to the iPad.

I am not sure what to advise you on this problem at this point. I'm not really great with Apple technology problems.

Thank you. I wasn't ever able to download the photos from that session, but photos taken more recently have downloaded successfully. I think it was a combination of dying batteries and weak internet connection.
