I connected my HDR-XR100 to my computer to download video. I used the supplied USB cable, but I am not getting the compuer to recognize any of the footage.

The computer is equipped with Sony Movie Studio for the downloading and editing platform. However, my computer does not seem to be deterecting the footabe. However, it is there.

Customer: I am using a Gateway computer. This is my first attempted download with this camera and theis computer.

I'm sorry about the issue. With the camcorder powered on and connected to the computer with the USB cable, does it show anything new on the camcorder's screen? Does it show USB CONNECT? If yes, can you touch USB CONNECT, then what happens? (Or can you press HOME button / icon, then menu icon (OTHERS), then select USB CONNECT, and check.)

Does it make a sound on the computer when the camcorder is turned on and plugged in the computer?

Does it show the camcorder device in Windows Explorer / File Explorer?

What's the model of your Gateway computer?

Do you have windows xp, vista, or 7, or 8, 10?

Can we do a remote support session, so I can troubleshoot the issue directly on your computer together with you?
