Canon EOS 600D Rebel T31 camera is currently not operating.

Customer Question

Canon EOS 600D Rebel T31 camera is currently not operating. It got wet while trying to take pictures during a rain storm despite my attempts to keep it dry. Hoping that replacing my battery pack might solve the problem, I replaced the existing one. The new battery pack that I replaced it with is not holding a charge.
What are my options?

Hello and thank you for your question. I look forward to assisting you today. First, remove all power immediately. Next, remove the SD card and leave it out as well. You will need to put the camera in a zip lock bag and completely cover it with white rice and leave it for several days, possibly up to a week. The rice will draw out any moisture still in the camera. If you are charging the battery in the camera, that may be related to the moisture as well. Let me know if you have any questions.
