Hello, I’m Nathan, and I’ll be assisting you today. My livelihood depends on your positive feedback, so your satisfaction is my highest priority. Sorry to hear you’re having trouble, Carol. You actually don't need any special software or programs, which is a good thing because as an older model, that software is likely no longer compatible with your computer if you've updated to a new version of windows. Plug the camera into the computer via the usb cable, and turn it on.Go into your Computer (my computer) folder, where you'd see things like your MyDocuments folder. On the left side of that window you'll see a listing of folders and drives, such as your C: hard drive and D: cd/dvd drive.Among them, you'll see another drive like E, F, or G typically, that will say Samsung, Camera, Removable Memory, etc. Double click that, then open the Images or DCIM folder, and wthin that you'll see all the picture files on the camera. You may drag/drop, or copy/paste those files to your Pictures folder or elsewhere. If you get stuck, or need more help, I can guide you through this and show you how to do it remotely as well. Best regards,Nathan
