I am travelling in Costa Rica and I received an

Customer Question

Hello!
I am travelling in Costa Rica and I received an error on my camera about the connection between the lens. It asked me to clean the sensor. I did this but it didn't fix the problem. I watched a you tube video that suggested switching between f-stops. And this seems to get the camera working again, however the settings are way off. I need help! I am nowhere near a Canon servicing location, and need my camera for the rest of the week for a work assignment. Much appreciated, Amber

Hello! No I didn't drop it, but I'm in a very humid part of the country, perhaps that has something to do with it?

Thanks for replying,Sand or grit or moisture interfering with the lens mechanism. Please follow the steps below :1. Take a can of compressed air and blow it through the lens.2. Take a thin piece of paper and try to just insert it little(not very deep)between the lens barrel to dislog or remove any dust particles stuck.3. Place the camera on a flat table with the lens pointing to the roof of your house. Now, hold down the shutter button while you power on the unit.Tell me how it goes!
