Expert:  Mike the Mac Medic replied 1 year ago.
OK but what application do you use to edit?
Expert:  Mike the Mac Medic replied 1 year ago.
So Quicktime player cannot read the files but it did before? Download VLC and tell me if it can open those files:http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html
Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Expert:  Mike the Mac Medic replied 1 year ago.
So you copy these files to your hard drive, they have the file extension .mov and when you double click them nothign opens and nothing happens?
Expert:  Mike the Mac Medic replied 1 year ago.
Can you send me one of the files?Go here with any web browser:http://tiny.cc/upload-to-mikemacmedicChoose Select Files and navigate to your file(s) to upload or you can also just drag the file(s) to the Upload box, then click on Start Uploading Files or Cancel to stop.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have not copied them. I go to view the files on my computer from the SD card. I get audio when I play the clip. But to view the files I have to load it into premier. which is a pain just to look a files.
Expert:  Mike the Mac Medic replied 1 year ago.
You should copy them first, can you send me one of the files?
Expert:  Mike the Mac Medic replied 1 year ago.
If you right click on one of the files and go to Open With: and choose VLC what happens then?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
just sent a file clip. I just hit record for a few seconds
Expert:  Mike the Mac Medic replied 1 year ago.
OK I tried on a Mac here and Quicktime player will not play that either but VLC and Aurora Bluray Player both play it fine.http://www.bluray-player-software.com/blu-ray-media-player.htm
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
why would it be fine for several hours of shooting, and then just go blank in quicktime.
Expert:  Mike the Mac Medic replied 1 year ago.
The Quicktime player is very picky about what it will play in my experience
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
does not help me.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I deal with a lot of computers editing computers, laptops, customer computers
Expert:  Mike the Mac Medic replied 1 year ago.
You can play then with VLC what do you mean that does not help? Are you sure it was set to that exact setting before. As I said the Quicktime player is very finicky it won't play a lot of files. Even on Mac.
Expert:  Mike the Mac Medic replied 1 year ago.
It's not your computer it is the files as it won't play here either with Quicktime player. Why do you have to play them with Quicktime player? I do a lot of editing with Final Cut Pro and Premier and I never use the Quicktime player... it won't play most files
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
when I have a shoot with a lot of footage. I want to look a files. I don't want to import everything to look at it. now I have to bring up premier go to media browser, go through the clips. I shoot with 3 types of DSLRs, Plus Canon 100 and 300 and Black Majic and don't have this issue.
Expert:  Mike the Mac Medic replied 1 year ago.
As I said it will play with both VLC and Aurora ... I can't change the way the Quicktime player works it simply can't play those files from that camera.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it worked for about 20 hours of shooting now its not. Your not able to help me out. your probably not familiar with this camera.
Expert:  Mike the Mac Medic replied 1 year ago.
It won't play them here either... if you are only using Quicktime player to play files you must have that problem a lot because it hardly ever plays anything in my experience.. I'll opt out you obviously have to use Quicktime player for some reason and I have no solution for that... I don't have experience wit that particular camera but I get files from many different cameras and Quicktime player won't play most of them
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
thank you. I am going to have to load VLC to all my computers. a lot of my clients have mac and only quicktime
Expert:  Anthony Pr replied 1 year ago.
if you press the menu button of the sets own remote control does the menu come up or not?if not can you see any visible light at all on the display?any feint light? Anthony
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I don't understand your question.
Expert:  Mike the Mac Medic replied 1 year ago.
I use only Macs for graphics design and video editing and I never use the Quicktime player for the reasons I already stated. I don't know how your workflow is organized but I always just import all the clips into FCP in one event and then look at them there it would take me forever to open each little clip individually...
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
some guy named Anthony just asked me a question
