Customer Question

Accidentally dropped my Canon 7D today. Slight damage on the door to the battery. The camera will not power up. I checked the seating of the battery, the calendar battery, and other possibilities. Replaced the battery with a known fresh one. Is there any kind of a reset switch? Is it worth repairing or should I buy the Canon 7D II?

Hello and thank you for your question, I look forward to assisting you today. There is a small micro switch that tells the camera when the battery cover is closed. If that switch is broken or dislodged in some manner, the camera will not turn on. Look closely near the outside of the body of the camera to see if you can locate it.
