Customer Question

Hi. I use a d810 and while shooting today, the camera made an odd sound after depressing the shutter release button. Sort of like it was struggling to do it's job. Now, every image is dark with a bit of image exposed at the top of the frame. What could be happening?

Hi. My name is*****'m a camera repair technician with almost 30 years in the business and I'll be gladto help you with your question today. I'm afraid none of the possibilities are good. It sounds like something jammed inside. This is going to require a little disassembly and troubleshooting to find out exactly what it is. If you're lucky, it's just a loose screw caught in the mechanism. This isn't something you want to try yourself, they're really, really complicated inside and a D810 isn't one you'd want to ruin. You may want to check locally for a camera repair shop in your area, or, if you need assistance finding a shop, please let me know and I'll locate one for you.
