Canon 70 d - access lamp get stuck on after shooting several shots. I am just learning to use my camera and am taking a class and we are working in manual mode and playing with white balance and aperture (obviously I am very new to this). After shooting several shots, I will take a picture and the access lamp gets stuck in red and it takes many seconds to complete the shot and there is not image produced. Once this occurs, the camera stays stuck in this mode and I have to shut it off and let it sit for a few minutes and then I can start over... is my camera broken? I have no idea where to start with this.

Hi,

It sounds as though the memory card is the cause of the problem. There are a number of issues with the card that will make the camera display these symptoms. Generally, these card issues can be fixed by emptying the card (transferring photos to the computer) and formatting it using the camera's Format process. The only other is that the card is just too slow (the number in the circle on the label is less than "6").

First, to eliminate any camera software hangups, reset the camera using the attached instructions.

Next, empty the card and format it.

Finally, take some shots and please let me know the result.
