I have a ZR45MC, lost my video solution disk and changed OS

Customer Question

Hi Pearl, I have a ZR45MC, lost my video solution disk and changed OS from XP to Winows 7. Where can I get this disk? Are they available for the new system. Would I have to go to Windows 10 since the Canon sight does not have Drivers for Windows 7 application. Larry
JA: Sometimes things that you think will be really complicated end up being easy to fix. The Camera Technician I'm going to connect you with knows all the tricks and shortcuts. Is there anything else important you think the Camera Technician should know?
Customer: Well, I don't know if I need the video storage Driver or if this is included with the solutions disk. It's been so long since I've had to mess with this.
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Camera Technician about your situation and connect you two.

Hi, thank you for contacting My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

I regret to have to report that there is no longer any downloadable software for the ZR series on Canon USA's website:

...meaning quite simply, that they no longer support it much, owing to its age probably.

You can call 1-800-OK-CANON and see if they still sell the disk, though.

Meanwhile, Windows 7 offers some facilities for handling and dealing with cameras and camcorders... provided that, when plugged in, your camcorder is recognized by Windows 7. Try it, wait a while, see if the screen at the lower right shows an automatic installing of drivers, then go to

Start - Computer

and see if there is an icon for the camcorder present there... if there is, double-click upon it and see what you get.

Please tell me what happens... and I may have further advice to offer. Thanks.
