Did the battery charge properly, previously, in the camera?

The battery seems fine. The camera is currently charged about half way according to the charging icon. I can take pictures and review those I have taken. However, when I try to increase the charge the charge light does not go on and when left plugged in it does not increase the charge. According to the icon. Is there a software problem? Have I somehow disconnected the charging ability of the camera?

Actually, the battery has a memory and depending on the use and charging pattern over time, the ability to reach a full charge can be limited. Internal camera chargers tend to be missing one of the most important maintenance features that most external chargers have, a discharge cycle. Discharging the battery completely before charging helps to maintain the higher charge capacity. A full discharge of your current battery before charging may restore full capacity or a new replacement battery should charge fully.

Please keep in mind that my diagnosis & solutions provided are directly dependent on the accuracy of your description of the problem. As with any "do it yourself" fixes, success is a "team effort", since I can't see or touch the camera, and relies on the customer's manual dexterity and ability to follow the instructions well.

I have been unable to send additional information using your web site. The battery works. I can take pictures and review them. The Icon indicated the battery is about half charged. However, when I try to charge it the charge light does not go on and the battery does not receive an additional charge according to the icon even though it is left plugged in for an extended time. Do I have a software problem or have I somehow turned off the charging abilities of the camera?

I understand that the battery works and charges partially, the reason is; the battery has a memory and depending on the use and charging pattern over time, the ability to reach a full charge can be limited.
