Customer Question

I have Nikon D700 and autofocus stopped working. One shot fine, then nothing. Did I hit wrong button or did something break?

Hi there and welcome

Can you on the camera while it is on, hold the Qual and +/- buttons for 3 seconds then release. These buttons are marked by a green dot.

Tell me if it then functions please.

No, unfortunately. I tried 3 times, still won't focus

It is the internal image sensor that has faulted. Its not able to get a complete image in order to correct the focus

A corrupted firmware can cause this. But we have ruled this out by trying to reinstall it.

I am really sorry about this and you are going to have to return the camera to have it replaced. It will be covered by the warranty if this has not expired, and the replacement will be done at no cost to you.

I am really sorry about this, and if you have problems, or would like any additional information or assistance, please do not hesitate to let me know.

And if you can take a second to rate my service, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
