we replaced the LCD screen (coolpix S3100). All seemed to go well with the swap and the camera turns on/takes pictures but the LCD screen is white and won't display anything.

Do the icons and menu display?

Checked everything twice. No icons, no menu.. just a white screen.

It is possible the new LCD is defective. This has happened before. However, it's more likely there is a problem with the LCD driver on the circuit board. Your best bet is to send it to Nikon for repair or replace it all together. It's a nice, compact camera, but there are hundreds of models to choose from. Besides, I believe Nikon has a trade-in only policy on this model.

I bought it and less than 24 hours later I dropped it breaking the LCD screen. That was about 2-3 years ago and I found out that you can buy an LCD screen last month. I guess it's a lost cause. Thanks.

That's the problem with impact damage. It can knock components loose on the circuit board and there are hundreds of them that can cause this problem.
