JVC GR-D250US. Older unit / New acquisition. Does a cassette

Customer Question

JVC GR-D250US . Older unit / New acquisition for me.
Does a cassette need to be inserted before you get a view on the screen or view finder. I do not as yet have a cassette, but when the cam is charged and turned on, there is a dark grey screen with no live view. I've adjusted the brightness to no effect.
Thanks in advance, Dwaine

Hi Dwaine,

A cassette does not need to be inserted to get the on-screen menu to appear or to get a live view.

If the screen remains dark grey then the backlight may have failed.

To fix this, the entire display screen will need to be replaced.

Pete.
