Photos I took with my D810 and brand new 70-200mm f/4G lens

Customer Question

Photos I took with my D810 and brand new 70-200mm f/4G lens came out in totally cold tones. Can't figure out why. With 20-70 lens they have been beautiful.

Hi there,

Have you changed your paper at all?

There are warm toned papers and cool toned papers.

Cool toned papers will have more blue or "cool" tones.

If you have a cool tone lens filter fitted, it can also cause a cold tone effect.

Pete it has nothing to do with the paper; I haven't printed the photos. I am viewing them on the camera and on Picasa. The lens has no filter.

If you swap lenses do any new photos appear ok again?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The color tones are perfect with my other lens.

I will call Nikon.

Have you tested the problem lens on another camera body?
