canon sl1 - won't power on. I see this question has been answered, but it is not the battery- it shows green on the charger

Thank you for the question and your patience. Should you still need assistance for information purposes only...

Initially, bear with us; replace the battery even if "...shows green on the charger..."

Still, the only easy user doable attempts (if have not been tried) would be to:

  • • ensure battery door/cover closes/latches completely/correctly;
  • • clean the battery connector;
  • in some instances, the spring type connector may have to be stretched a bit carefully to ensure full contacts to the battery terminals.

All others would be internal to the camera and may point to a potential hardware issue

Please post back results / observations of the above once done.

Sorry, but justanswer took too long to respond to my question. I already did everything you mentioned prior to contacting justanswer to no avail. i was hoping for some secret reset buttons I can push to override whatever is preventing the camera from powering on. It is already in box and en route to the rental company.At this point, I would just like my money back.
