My canon eos rebel is saying that my sd card is set to locked but it is not. I put in a brand new card and it said the same thing. The switch on the sd card is set to unlocked but the camera still says it is locked and won't take pictures.

Hello my name is ***** ***** help with your Canon Camera issue.

The problem that you are having with your Canon Rebel EOS REBEL T3 is very well known by Canon and they have recommended two solutions due to the fact that Inside the card slot, there's a sensor that detects which position the switch is in.

- So the first solution might not apply to you as you have stated you made sure particles of Dust and Debris have been cleared using COMPRESSED AIR.

- Second solution is by downloading the latest FIRMWARE UPDATES that would reset many if not all the sensors within the camera back to default settings.

If both solutions fail to get the functionality back and running, I would suggest to contact CANON to check for a possible recall on this matter.
