Hello, my name is*****'ll be happy to assist you.

There are two things suspected, either the zoom switch located on top of camera is causing the problem or main board of camera is defective.

If you slide zoom out/wide button, does it zoom out the picture or zoom out display appears on camera screen?

if picture zoom out then the zoom control switch would be bad and if zoom out display appears yet no movement in lesn then main board of camera is bad.

Zoom control board (small board on top of camera) can be replaced by camera tech and would cost around $50 or so and if main board found bad then you would be better off with a new camera as it would cost more than new camera price of same model. I trust my input will help you out. Please feel free to respond if you have any additional questions.
