I Have a Nikon D3000 camera. Just purchased a Nikon zoom

Customer Question

I Have a Nikon D3000 camera. Just purchased a Nikon zoom 55-300 mm lens. I am trying to learn how to shoot in "manual". When I take a picture, it does NOT show up on the LCD screen. Obviously I must have a setting wrong. Any suggestions?

If the camera will still take good photo in auto mode, go back to auto and note the settings (aperture, shutter speed & ISO). When you go back to manual mode, start with the same settings, as a reference point, take a few shots and let me know the result.
