I have a brand new s7000. When I try to take a pic in auto

Customer Question

I have a brand new s7000.
When I try to take a pic in auto mode, the box in the view finder screen is red, not green.
The image is blurry unless I zoom in.
It worked fine until yesterday.

Hello,
I am Pete, and I'll be happy to assist with your question today.
Turn the dial all the way around through all mode settings, then back to Auto mode again to ensure Auto mode is correctly engaged.
Try taking a photo of a distant object with a contrasting background.
If the camera still won't focus, reset it to its default factory settings using the menu option.

If the Reset did not work, then there is nothing else the user can do. The camera likely has a hardware fault and will need to be returned to Nikon for investigation.
