Hi. My name is***** own a small camera repair business and am a technician with over 25 years in the business. I'll be glad to help you.
This sounds like a stuck button to me. At least the camera acts the same way when one is stuck. Make sure they all have a good, positive feel to them and has a "click" to it. If you find one that is stuck, use an old tooth brush and some alcohol to clean it thoroughly. You may need to use a straight pin to gently pop the button back out. Be careful not to mar the plastic too much. This can cause further problems.
Please let me know if this is the problem.
