I have a Nikon Coolpix L810 and I do not know how to download

Customer Question

I have a Nikon Coolpix L810 and I do not know how to download pictures to my computer.
It is plugged into USB Port and I downloaded View NX2. Nothing is happening.
My PC hard drive was replaced and I lost all software. Do I need a driver?

Hello and thank you for your question, I look forward to helping you with your issue today. Are you using the USB cable that came with the camera?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
yes
Expert:  Dan replied 2 years ago.
What version of Windows are you using?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
do you have any suggestion? Should I only talk to Nikon?
Expert:  Dan replied 2 years ago.
Depending on the version of Windows you are using, that may be the problem with the NX2 software. If your computer has an SD card port, you can remove the card from the camera and copy the photos that way.

I have Windows 7
Expert:  Dan replied 2 years ago.
Well the software should work then. Does your computer have an SD card port?
Expert:  Dan replied 2 years ago.
Are you using the cable that came with the camera?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I do not have a card reader. Before my hard drive was replaced, I used to just plug into USB Port and it would start downloading. So I downloaded View NX2 from Nikon. and i have now plugged in and View N2 is open and the destination folder is picked.
Expert:  Dan replied 2 years ago.
Make sure you plug the camera into the computer while it is turned off. Turn it on once the cable is plugged in.

please call me
Expert:  Dan replied 2 years ago.
My apologies but I am not setup for phone calls.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I unplugged the USB Port and my camera auto shut off before I unplugged. I plugged into PC and camera is off. What do I do next?
Expert:  Dan replied 2 years ago.
Now turn the camera on and see if the software program picks it up.
Expert:  Dan replied 2 years ago.
Also, are you using the original cable that came with the camera?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I turned the camera on and the light on the camera power button is flashing like it is going to shut off. Nothing is happening on my PC
My camera shut off so I turned it back on and pushed the button to playback; still nothing on my PC
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Any suggestions?
Expert:  Dan replied 2 years ago.
Make sure the camera if fully charged and that you are using the original USB cable that came with the camera. I will research this a little more for you and get back to you in a few minutes if that is okay.

Expert:  Dan replied 2 years ago.
Are you using the original cable that came with the camera?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
yes, I am using the original cable. Nikon said I did not need a card reader to download the pics. they sent me a link to download which is View NX2 and is installed and open on my pc
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
the camera is plugged in but the power is off on the camera
Expert:  Dan replied 2 years ago.
True you don't need a card reader as long as the connection between the camera and computer works like it is supposed to. You should be able to turn the camera on once it is connected to the computer.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
r u ready or do u need to research more?
Expert:  Dan replied 2 years ago.
Disconnect the camera and uninstall the NX2 software then reinstall if again.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
first I have to find the email with the link. give me a few minutes to find the link.
Expert:  Dan replied 2 years ago.
Okay. You might want to download and save it.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
okay, I found the email that has two links. there is a tutorial on how to use View NX2 that I have never clicked. do you still want me to uninstall the View NX2 or do you want me to first click the tutorial?
Expert:  Dan replied 2 years ago.
Feel free to check out the tutorial and get back to me when you can. I may be off for the night but will get back with you as soon as I can.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
i watched the tutorial and when I turned on the camera, it should have recognized the camera and it did not
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
r u gone? how will u contact me when u come back to work?
Expert:  Dan replied 2 years ago.
Well then the next thing to try is reinstalling the software.
Expert:  Dan replied 2 years ago.
