my name is ***** ***** have a Nikon DX with a 18-55mm lense and a 55-300mm lense. The smaller lense works perfectly. Recently I have had problems when I put the bigger lense onto the camera it won't focus or allow the camera to take a photo at all. Please help me?

The most likely cause for this problem is a defective AF motor in the lens. If the image is not in focus, the camera won't release in any other mode except "M", Manual. This will require disassembling the lens to replace and really isn’t a user serviceable problem. This should be repaired by a qualified technician. You may want to check locally for a camera repair shop in your area, or, if you need assistance finding a shop, please let me know and I'll locate one for you.
