Yes. When I begin to videotape the date and time is not displayed as I video.
The accurate date and time has been programmed into the camera.
I have a user's manual.
This problem just began, has worked properly in the past

Hi there is a way to turn off the taping of the info like date and time for your unit, Please refer to unit's manual p22.

I am looking at pg 22.
I don't have a Remote Commander.
Is there another way to do the same function using the camera and not the Remote Commander?

What has caused the date and time to stop being displayed as it was earlier?

Hi you would need that to make this change. You can get an exact replacement remote for that unit fro either of these two sites, Its best to call them for this to be sure to get the correct one, also they DON'T list all the remotes on line;-)
Please visit: www.remotes.com and www.mrremote.com.
Both or one will have this for you and its the exact same one that came with the camcorder.
