Put the camera scan disc into scan disk reader port and activated

Customer Question

put the camera scan disc into scan disk reader port and activated the FastStone photo resizer to convert photo size and automatically saves the result to designated folder. Normally the original pictures remain on the camera scan disk and can be accessed another time. This time the photos disappeared off the camera scan disk. Half the photos were resized and saved correctly; the other half were saved as corrupted with a .ckk file extension. Tried to use card recovery program; it said no recoverable photos. Do you have any ideas on what happened or techniques for recovering the original photos?
