Customer Question

I have camcorder mode lHC-V550. Wen I record by pressin the button and want to go to pause, often it will not pause until I press the button several times. I sent the cmer in for repair and got it back with answer there is not problem, "may be on the writing speed of the SD card".
What is that situation, I find nothing in the manual on that.

Hi, thank you for contacting My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.
The speed of the card(s) you are using could matter. Some types of memory card have faster response than others, you see.
If the response is slow, and you press the pause button twice, you may be pausing-then-un-pausing when you do that... which would make the 'response time' only by the third (or fifth, or seventh, etc.) button-press.
So try pressing the button once (on some test footage) and then just waiting.
Also tell me what memory card you are using, so that I may research whether its response time is noticeably slow.

I use an SDHC.Nd yes, I have found that if I always record for at least 10 seconds, dthen it will pause properly. What SD card do you recommend ?

SDHC response time, for write operations, is on the order of 18 MegaBytes per second (18 MB/sec).For other analogous types, esp. SDXC, the write operations response time is on the order of ... well, it varies. But there is the original SDXC card, then the version 3.0, then the version 4.0:3.0: very fast. 50-104 MB/sec.4.0: even faster, 156-312 MB/sec. So you might - perhaps - get better results in terms of card response time, from SDXC cards of version 3 or more (if your camcorder can use such cards.) The Specs of the Panasonic camcorder you have say it is compatible with SDHC and SDXC.
