I have a EXR Fine Pic Digital camera that stopped working.

Customer Question

I have a EXR Fine Pic Digital camera that stopped working. There is a focus error message on the screen. The camera button does not operate at all. Can you assist!!! I wonder if I could turn the camera back to it's original settings thinking that I or someone else may have pushed the wrong button.

Hello. My name is***** can help you with your question. If the error is a focus error, it very likely has something to do with the lens that retracts in and out when you turn the camera on. These lenses can sometimes get jammed – it only takes something the size of a grain of sand to make this happen. What you can do is try to gently free it mechanically. While turning it on and off try twisting the lens very gently with the front of it facing down in case you dislodge something. You can also tap it on the palm of your hand while turning it on. If the lens does go all the way in and out when you do this, then it would be something else but the lens being stock is the most common problem. Please let me know if this helps or if you need additional assistance. If you do need additional help, please let me know exactly what the error message says. Thank you. Oh and by the way, this does not affect the images that are on the memory card. Images that you have already taken are safe and can be transferred to a computer a different way if you have to.
