I am currently using a 64GB SanDisk card Type 10 (1) and would very much like to ensure that should i buy the faster card it will in fact work with my camera...........

Yes, it will work. SD, SDHC, SDXC are standard, so even if you buy a memory card with higher speed, and your camera does not support the higher speed, it will still work by running with the lower speed. Your camera supports all 3 memory standards: SD, SDHC, SDXC. Thank you.
