WE own a Sony Video 8 Handycam Model CCD-FX510 that was purchased

Resolved Question:

WE own a Sony Video 8 Handycam Model CCD-FX510 that was purchased sometime in the late 1980s or early 1990s. It always worked fine, but when our kids grew up and moved out we stopped using it. We recently took it out and opened the cassette holder to remove the tape. It opened and we took the tape out. When we put the tape back in and shut the cassette holder it closed and made a whining noise but the top part that raises up when it ejects tape will not close down. It does not appear to have any foreign object in the mechanism that I can see and it opened fine, but will not close!
Is this worth getting repaired and if so, where would I send it? The Sony online repair site doesn't recognize this model number so it won't give me any service location info!
