Customer Question
I used a solution...

I used a solution of vinegar and rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball for cleaning my dogs ears

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. What is the matter with your dog?

He's acting panicky and won't each. Is it possible there was some ingestion or inhalation of the rubbing alcohol.

Veterinarian's Assistant: Where does your dog seem to hurt?

Hes just shaking a bit. Ive rubbed his ears. Nothing.

Veterinarian's Assistant: What is the dog's name and age?

Shortie and hes about 8

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Shortie?

Nothing. Everything was always normal.

I am sorry to hear you are concerned about Shorty. How long ago did you use this in his ears?

Are his ears at all red or inflamed or infected?

Ask Your Own Veterinary Question

No they are not

Cleaned them about an hour ago
Veterinarian: Rebecca, Veterinarian replied 7 months ago

Alcohol can be irritating in ears. I use vinegar mixed with water.

I don't see how he could have ingested any if it was in his ears.

You might try washing his ears with plain water.

Will the water flush the little bit of alcohol
Veterinarian: Rebecca, Veterinarian replied 7 months ago

Yes, that should flush out the alcohol, if it has not already evaporated.
