Hello. I have Baytril 2.5% for my 2.4kg Rabbit. He’s being treated for pneumonia and has been prescribed 1.9ml twice a day. The dosage was supposed to last a week but has ran out half way through. Do you think hes been on double the dosage he needs or I’ve not been given enough Baytril? Thanks in advance

Plumb Veterinary Drug Handbook 2015 is my reference, Baytril dose for Paustrella respiratory infections in rabbits is 5mg-20mg orally twice day for min of 14 days out to several months. 2.5% is 2.5 mg/ml & 1.9 ml is a dose of 4.75mg, I calculated a low dose of 12mg twice day & high dose of 48mg twice day, I typically dose @ 10mg/kg

It appears that the dose may be low.

I will monitor for your follow up. Can you post pictures of the RX label & your bunny?

2.5% is 25mg/ml NOT 2.5 mg/ml!!

Math error on my part, your bunny is on correct & high dose. You will need a larger RX, noticed the label says "owe 7 ml"
