Customer Question

It looked like he had something in his mouth but by the time I got to him he had swallowed it. Now he won't stop hiccuping. It has been about 45 minutes. He acts fine in every other way. Is this something to worry about?
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. What sort of animal are we talking about?
Customer: Sorry, he is an Australian labradoodle 12 weeks old
JA: Maybe I'm confused. I thought you had a problem with a pet. Is that correct?
Customer: Yes, a 12 week old puppy
JA: The Veterinarian will know if the puppy will be able to digest that. Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about the puppy?
Customer: Not that I can think of

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you today. I do apologize that your question was not answered before. Different experts come online at various times; I just came online, read about your wee one’s situation, and wanted to help.

Again I do apologize that my colleagues could not aid you sooner, but can you tell me:

Is he still actively hiccupping?

Any retching, gagging, lip licking, drooling, or vomiting?

Can he keep any water down?

Are his gums nice and pink (not white/pale)? Moist or sticky?

If you press on his belly, any tensing, tenderness, discomfort, or pain?
