Hello, I'm Dr Gary. I've been practicing veterinary medicine since 2007. I look forward to helping with your questions/ concerns.
I'm sorry to hear about your dog. With weight gain, loss of eyesight and weakness, I would really want to rule out Diabetes. This can lead to weight gain initially and then weight loss later in the disease process. It can also cause cataracts, which affects vision. We also get poor glucose utilization, so we can see weakness.
I would get some bloodwork to see if this is the case. Other differentials would be: liver disease, masses in the abdomen, kidney disease or Hypothyroidism (low thyroid hormone).
The treatment will depend on what is found. If diabetes, we treat with twice daily Insulin Injections.
I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
