WHAT COULD HAPPEN TO MY DOG IF I HAVE BEEN GIVING IT TO HIM 2X DAILY BY ACCIDENT?

Dr. Drew :

Hello, thanks for your question today! I am Dr. Drew, and I am a licensed veterinarian. I'll be happy to help you in any way I can.

Dr. Drew :

I'm not sure what you're referring to as being given twice daily -- is this a medicine that you're asking about?

Customer:

Yes it is a ringworm medication griseofulvin

Dr. Drew :

how long has it been that you're giving it twice daily?

Customer:

12 days

Dr. Drew :

how many mg per pill? How much does Willie weigh?

Customer:

willie weighs 60 lbs and im not sure it is 1 1/4 pills daily.

Customer:

i don't have the bottle with me

Dr. Drew :

well, without knowing how many mg per pill, it's difficult to calculate Willie's exact dose, but the good news is that serious harm is unlikely.

Dr. Drew :

digestive upset would be the most likely effect,

Customer:

agressive behavior would not occur would it?

Dr. Drew :

but if you see signs of weakness, lethargy, pale gums, or other similar signs, then veterinary attention is needed.

Dr. Drew :

No, I would not expect any behavioral changes / aggression to occur from this drug.

Customer:

thank you

Dr. Drew :

you're very welcome.
