our 3 yearold schipperke female has a very hard heart beat . what should we do ?

Can you give me some more information.

Is she acting abnormal?

Can you check her gum color- is it pink, pale, blue or yellow?

Can you get a beats per minute count and let me know what it is?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

gums pink heartrate 80 beats per min. acting normal has been taking termaril p tablet since monday 2twice aday for 3days then 1 once a day for 4 days everything else has been the same.

Ok thanks.

That is a nice normal heart beat for a dog. Normal ranges are 80-120.

The Temaril-P is likely the reason why you're feeling the heart beat more today than you normally would. Temaril-P is a steroid. It can increase the strength of contractions and blood pressure in dogs. We often see a handful of common side effects with steroids- increased drinking, increased urination, increased appetite, panting and a pot-bellied look. The high blood pressure is less commonly noted, but it can be seen.

These signs should resolve as the steroids are weaned down and discontinued.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
