i think our grandsons pup has just eaten ratsack, not sure how long ago. We fed him before noticing the container tipped over. What should we do please?

Welcome to Just Answer. In a case like this, the best thing to do is go to an ER clinic for them to make him vomit to get up as much poison as possible. They can then give activated charcoal to bind up more not brought up. Then Vitamin K is prescribed for 30 days as this is the antidote. I always do this as he may have eaten some earlier than we realize. This poison causes uncontrolled bleeding in about 2 days. no signs are seen immediately due to it.

If veterinary care is unavailable, vomiting can be induced at home using 3% Hydrogen peroxide, mixed with some milk or ice cream to make it taste better. The amount given is 1mL per pound of body weight. You will still need to get to your vet in the next 24 hours to start the vitamin K1 therapy.

Thankyou for the advise, I've been able to get into an after hrs vet and because of the time elasped of eating rat sack, the only thing to do was to prescribe 1/4 tablet of Vit K1 per day and have a blood test in 2 days. Thanks again...
