Have had my Syrian Hamster for about a week now and we have noticed today that he has a bit of diarrhea he seems active still but has slept a little more recently. I was wondering if I should be worried this is something serious and anything I can do to make him better. Also what the cause might be?

Good Morning and welcome to Just answer. I am Dr. Loretta, a licensed veterinarian and I am happy to answer your question.

It is not uncommon for hamsters to become stressed due to the new environment and have a minor digestive disturbance causing loose stool. AS long as Dobby is still active and eating, this will most likely resolve on its own.

If this continues or worsens, then follow the guidelines given in this site:

Good Luck!
