Dr. Steven Osborne :

Hi, I'm Dr.Steve

Dr. Steven Osborne :

Kittens need a milk replacer that contains taurine, an amino acid that cats can not make themselves. Most pupppy milk replacers don't contain taurine, because puppies can make taurine from other proteins. Puppy milk replacer will be OK for a short time, but not more than a few days.

Dr. Steven Osborne :

MOst kitten replacers will contain taurine. This amino acid may not be listed on teh label because the FDA doesn't require it to be listed specifically, but manufactireres know that it is vital to be in a milk replacer so they make sure it is. I hope this has helped. If it has, would you please click the accept button so I may receive credit for my answer. Thank you and Good Luck. I will check back later to see if you have more questions.
